Iconische frontman van The Smiths geeft exclusief optreden

Morrissey keert terug naar Nederland voor een exclusief concert in de Doelen. De invloedrijke Britse artiest bouwde in ruim vier decennia een indrukwekkende carrière op, zowel als frontman van The Smiths als in zijn succesvolle soloperiode.

Met The Smiths schreef hij muziekgeschiedenis dankzij tijdloze klassiekers als “This Charming Man,” “How Soon Is Now?” en “There Is A Light That Never Goes Out.” Ook solo bleef hij een bepalende stem binnen de popmuziek, met geliefde nummers als “Suedehead,” “Everyday Is Like Sunday,” “Irish Blood, English Heart” en “First of the Gang to Die.”

Morrissey bracht 13 soloalbums uit die allemaal de UK Top 10 haalden, en werd onderscheiden met onder meer een Ivor Novello Award en de Social Vanguard Award 2024 voor zijn inzet voor dierenrechten. Morrissey returns to the Netherlands for an exclusive concert on Tuesday, 24 February 2026 at de Doelen in Rotterdam. Over the course of more than four decades, the influential British artist has built an impressive career, both as the frontman of The Smiths and as a successful solo performer.

With The Smiths, he helped shape music history with timeless classics such as “This Charming Man,” “How Soon Is Now?” and “There Is A Light That Never Goes Out.” His solo work further cemented his status as a defining voice in pop music, delivering beloved songs including “Suedehead,” “Everyday Is Like Sunday,” “Irish Blood, English Heart” and “First of the Gang to Die.”

Morrissey has released 13 solo albums, all of which reached the UK Top 10, and has been honoured with accolades including an Ivor Novello Award and the 2024 Social Vanguard Award for his commitment to animal rights.
