We mogen hopen dat jullie de awkward danspasjes van 2014 niet verleerd zijn. Dat was namelijk de laatste keer dat festivalfavoriet Kakkmaddafakka Rotterdam aandeed met hun feestelijke mix van folk, softpop, disco en classic rock. “Party is a trend that never stops”, zo luidt het levensmotto van deze droogkomische Noren.

Met andere woorden: bij een show van Kakkmaddafakka is zowel buitenbeentje als trendsetter meer dan welkom. Het nieuwe album KMF (zou dat een knipoogje zijn naar The KLF?) staat wederom bol van de zonnige popklanken, bijdehante songteksten en dergelijke plaisanterie. Verplichte kost? Dacht het wel! In je lelijkste outfit komen is overigens een pré.

We sure hope you haven’t unlearned all them awkward dance moves you did back in 2014. Because that was the last time festival favorite Kakkmaddafakka engulfed Rotown with their catchy-as-heck mixture of folk, soft pop, disco and classic rock. “Party is a trend that never stops,”, is the wry Norwegians’ axiom of choice.

In other words, a Kakkmaddafakka-show is a bona fide festoon where both misfits and cool kids come together. New album KMF (would that be a nod to The KLF?) once again gleams bright with plenty of wisecracks and an assortment of razzmatazz. A must see? But of course. And be sure to attend this gig in your ugliest outfit for maximum awkward-coolness.
