We’re still ballyhooing over Indian Askin’s radiant performance opening up for The Afterveins at Rotown earlier this year. Turns out there was plenty of grounds for it, as Indian Askin found prosperity on their own with fiery show stopper Answer.  Just goes to show that fortunes can turn on a whim! Indian Askin’s refractory brand of rock uses many different stylistics as stepping stones: grunge, seventies rock, psychedelic rock, punk rock…you name it. More impressively is the way this band harnesses all those influences into music that’s both evocative and fresh.

The driving creative force behind Indian Askin is wunderkind Chino Ayala, a gifted fellow who knows his way around a mixing board. On top of that, he knows how to bellow out a scream that sends shivers down your spine, something popular Dutch host Mathijs van Nieuwkerk can now attest to. Indian Askin’s debut LP is slated for release next summer, yet already we hear tentative whispers this LP will be one of 2016’s finest records. Look for Indian Askin to retort those wagers tonight with yet another resounding scream. The answer is yes!
